CSS Zen Jabberwocky project

What is it?

   This project was all about getting a html page and changing the design as a whole by using only CSS, and not being able to change the html at all. There are so many different things that you can do through the CSS and this project is a great way to be able to explore all the different ways you can change a website through the CSS. http://csszengarden.com  

My design

   I looked at many other examples to get an idea of what I could do through the CSS. Then I drew a sketch of what I kind of wanted to do. When I started to go in and work on the project I used my sketch to give me an idea of what to do. Some parts of the project turned out like how my sketch looked. However there parts where it doesn't so much look like my sketch. The reason was either that as I was doing it I though of something that would look better than my sketch so I did that. Or I was unable to get the CSS to do what I had on my sketch so I had to problem solve and go a different direction with it. My Jabberwocky site

 

Summary:

   By the end I felt like the most difficult part of the project was positioning the divs. I had some divs that I wanted at the top, like the links div. However the div came after other ones so it made it very difficult to position it how I wanted. I had to give it a negative margin and a whole lot of it. It was also difficult to make it responsive in the way that I wanted. So in the end it is not as responsive as I would like it to be. During this project I learned a lot about how to position things without touching the html. I would say that this project took me about four or four and a half days. A good majority of this time was me designing it or being stuck on how to position the divs correctly.
